Allies for JusticeBelieving in God’s call to “to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8), Allies for Justice is a book study group that examines why and how social justice is important in the church and in our faithful action. We attempt to build our perseverance and stamina to be the hands and feet of Christ to serve our neighbors, the marginalized and the oppressed.

These are universal questions that Second's Spiritual Growth Ministry Team will be facilitating as we explore the profound teachings and personal stories of Henri Nouwen, one of the most influential spiritual voices of our time. Friends in FaithFriends in Faith is an interfaith program that meets every third Saturday of the month for intimate roundtable discussions. We invite participants from all Faith traditions to explore topics related to social issues, spiritual and religious practices, and holistic well-being. These gatherings foster mutual understanding, discover common ground, and collaboratively address the challenges facing our world through productive dialogues on religious and cultural relevance.
Knitting and Crocheting MinistryDo you enjoy knitting or crocheting? Join the Knitting and Crocheting Ministry to use your beloved hobby in service to others. Together, we create prayer shawls, winter caps, lap blankets, and more, sharing these lovingly made items with church members in need of comfort and care, neighbors visiting our Food Pantry, Veterans and others who may appreciate a tangible reminder of the love and prayers of our faith community. Men at Second PregameThis class is a ministry of Men at Second and creates space for men to experience fellowship and connection as we discuss scripture, life, and the world around us. The class is interactive, exploring different topics each week and providing opportunities for informal and guided reflection and conversation. It’s called Pregame because it serves as a prelude to both the morning Sanctuary worship service and the week ahead. All men are welcome!

The Generous WordThis Bible Study is sponsored by the LGBTQ+ Christian Fellowship and is open to those in the LGBTQ+ community and friends and allies. Women at Second Sermon Discussion GroupThis group is a ministry of Women at Second that meets online each Thursday evening for discussion of the Sunday sermon, prayer, and fellowship. Join us as we revisit the sermon and discuss its relevance for our lives as well as the changing world we live in today. We use the written sermon text for reference.
